Vietnamese Tourist Attractions - Halong Bay, Hoi An & MoreHoi An
Located at 30 kilometers south to Danang, in the province of Quang Nam, Hoi An is a little town filled with history, culture, and beautiful old architecture. Hoi An was placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1999.
Between the 15th and 19th centuries, Hoi An was one of the major trading centers in Southeast Asia, before Thu Bon river silted up and the commercial operations were moved north to Danang where continue even today. Many travelers come to Hoi An nowadays to explore its historical and cultural vestiges, but also for the beautiful beaches lined by high class resorts and hotels (largely offering deluxe accommodation), restaurants, and bars present in this town.
Halong Bay
Covering over 3000 square kilometers, Halong Bay is one of the most popular Vietnamese vacation spots due to the spectacular scenery. Located in the northeastern part of Vietnam on the border with China, Halong Bay is a National Protection Area from 1962. In 1994 it was placed on UNESCO's World Heritage List. For the Vietnamese people Halong Bay is a land of myths and legends, while for travelers it is just a magnificent tourist attraction to visit in this country.
Hue - The Complex Of Hue Monuments
In 1993 some monuments of Hue, the former capital of Vietnam, were placed on the UNESCO's World Heritage List. During the Nguyen dynasty (1802 - 1945), 13 kings ruled the country from Hue, located on the banks of the Perfume River. Hue is considered today the Buddhist religious center in Vietnam.
My Son
Situated 68 kilometers southwest to Danang, My Son was once the capital city of the Charm dynasty, which ruled between the 4th and 13th centuries. Today many of the statues and monuments have been moved to the Charm Museum in Danang. My Son, housing more than 70 temples, is a major travel destination for tourists visiting provinces of Quang Nam and Hoi An. My Son was listed by UNESCO in 1999.
Phong Nha Cave - Ke Bang National Park
Comprising around 65 kilometers of caves and underground rivers, Phong Nha is home to some of the most endangered plants and animals in Vietnam. Extending to the border with Laos, Ke Bang National Park is a splendid tropical forest and one of the most visited landmarks. Listed by UNESCO in 2005, this park provides a great environment for trekking, photography, and boating. Phong Nha is nowadays a tourist spot which grows very fast in popularity, but fortunately there isn't available yet luxury hotel accommodation and people don't meet the commercial holiday atmosphere specific to other top vacation resorts in Southeast Asia.
