Vietnam is becoming a very popular travel destination. Vietnam's 2100 mile coastline and thousands of islands provide many unspoiled beaches that invite travelers to relax and enjoy the sound of the surf and the warmth of the friendly sun. Some beaches are developed with hotels and restaurants to attract pretentious vacationers, while others offer secluded beaches for daytime picnics or small group camping.
Some of the most popular beach destinations from Vietnam:
Starting in the north is Halong Bay with its sandstone islands. Cat Ba is the largest island in Halong Bay, attracting many travelers. Halong Bay has several other islands where hotel's boats anchor and allow passengers to enjoy a walking on the beach or swim in the warm ocean.
Do Son Beach, on a small peninsula near Haiphong, is shaded by pine trees and has hills nearby and mountains in the distance.
50 miles south of Hue is Lang Co Beach. There the water is warm year around and very shallow. It offers great views such as distant mountains, nearby forests and beautiful waves on a blue sea. Scuab diving, hiking, boating and fishing are offered here.
China Beach, between Danang and Hoian, is the best known beach to American vacationers. This area has many upscale resort hotels. China Beach is adjacent to the Marble Mountain Monastery. Small marble statues made by local artists are great tourist souvenirs. China Beach is also about 10 miles from Hoian, a another popular tourist destination.
Hoian Beach is the best destination for the budget traveler. Hoian has much to offer - restaurants, shopps and tours to China Beach & Marble Mountain, as well to Cham ruins of My Son.
Nha Trang, considered to be the Riviera of the South China Sea, is maybe the best beach destination from Vietnam. Nha Trang is surrounded by mountains, has a 5 mile white sand beach front and over 70 off shore islands! Scuba diving and snorkeling are both great there. Vacationers can relax on the beach and also enjoy great sea-food offered by many local restaurants. Walk Tran Phu Street, which runs parallel to the beach, or take a tour of Cham ruins and Buddhist shrines.
Mui Ne Beach is located about 120 miles east of Saigon. Awesome sand dunes have been created there by continual winds. Due to the strong wind, windsurfing and kite surfing are popular there. Mui Ne offers the strangest weather in Vietnam and tropics – it's hot and dry.
Beaches from Vung Tau, being near Saigon (80 miles), attracts many Vietnamese weekenders as well as tourists.
Ha Tien is located on the border with Cambodia (5 miles away) and it features several awesome beaches. Hon Chong Beach has white sand and calm waters, while nearby Tien Cave attracts travelers with two beach entrances. Nearby islands attract scuba divers, snorkeling fans, fisherman, and vacationers wanting to enjoy a boat ride.
Phu Quoc Island, in the Gulf of Thailand, is Vietnam's largest island, offering mountains, lush jungles and soft white-sand beaches.
In the western side of Vietnam is Bai Truong Beach, where tourists can enjoy magnificent sunsets on the Gulf of Thailand.
